Children up to 12 years old were recently invited to take part in our ‘Spot the Difference’ Colouring Competition. The judges were very impressed by the creativity and artistic skill reflected in the almost 200 entries.
The winners are:
- Ages under 6: Isabelle, age 5, from Co Meath.
- Ages 7-9: Johnny, age 9, from Co. Galway.
- Ages 10-12: Tadgh, age 12, from Co. Cork.
The winner in each of the three age categories will receive a €50 One4all voucher and a goodie bag sponsored by the National Rural Network.
Congratulating the winners, Seamus Boland Director of the NRN said, “The farming landscape is a valuable part of our cultural and natural heritage. The large number of entries received is a positive sign that young people are aware of the important habitat farmland provides for biodiversity.”
Biodiversity is one of the key themes of the NRN, which is a component of Ireland’s Rural Development Programme. For more information on biodiversity visit http://nationalruralnetwork.ie/biodiversity
