National Beef Welfare Scheme 2023 Suckler farmers

Aug 30, 2023 | Climate Change News

August sees another scheme launched by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM). Suckler farmers will see the benefits of The National Beef Welfare Scheme (NBWS) to support measures designed to enhance animal health and husbandry on suckler farms.

This scheme will support farmers in meal feeding suckler calves in advance of and after weaning, and in testing for the presence of Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) in their herds. Both actions are mandatory for farmers who wish to participate in the scheme.

Applications must be lodged online through agfood.ie with a closing date of 12th September 2023.

No late applications will be accepted as to allow for payments to participants to issue in mid-December 2023.
