The sixth session of the University of Galway’s Rural Studies Centre Seminar Series ‘Rural Voices’ featured Dr Bernadette Quinn and Samantha Morris from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) who presented preliminary findings from Phase One of the IRC funded research project Festivals, Audiences and the Digital Experience (FADE).
This project investigates the implications of the digital turn for arts festivals in rural Ireland asking: have they the necessary capacity to avail of the opportunities that digital technologies undoubtedly offer for cultural production and dissemination? A recording of this presentation, that took place on the 29th of June 2022, has been added to the University of Galway Rural Studies Centre YouTube Channel.

Rural Voices provides a platform for Irish academics and key rural stakeholders to present their research or rural projects; network with others engaged in a similar space, both within and beyond academia and to initiate discussions around key rural issues.
